About OpenTrain

OpenTrain aggregates data-labeling and AI-training jobs from many companies and platforms into one place so contributors can discover opportunities without searching dozens of sites. Creating an OpenTrain account is free and applying to projects typically takes only a few minutes.

About AI Training Work

This role is part of human-centered AI training: people prepare and verify examples that teach models to understand human bodies and motion. These jobs are essential to making computer vision systems accurate and safe, and they often let contributors work flexibly and remotely (when allowed by the project).

The Role

This is a 2-hour pilot project focused on producing accurate 3D key points from existing 2D annotations. Successful completion of the pilot may lead to ongoing contract work with flexible scheduling. The subject matter is anatomy annotation on image data.

  • Data type: IMAGE
  • Label types: ACTION_RECOGNITION, BOUNDING_BOX, CLASSIFICATION, OBJECT_DETECTION, POINT_KEY_POINT
  • Labeling software: OTHER
  • Employment: CONTRACTOR, PART_TIME
  • Experience level: Expert

What You'll Do

Work through a short pilot workflow to validate and refine 3D human pose annotations derived from 2D key points. Precision and anatomical plausibility are essential.

  • Validate existing annotations and identify discrepancies or misplaced key points.
  • Adjust 2D key point positions and visibility flags to improve alignment.
  • Estimate field of view (FOV) and ground planes to match image perspective.
  • Set depths and orientations for 3D key points and align them to a skeletal/avatar model.
  • Use tools (including Undo/Redo) and hotkeys to make precise adjustments efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot common issues like out-of-frame points, occlusions, and incorrect depth placement.
  • Follow the annotation review stages from initial assessment to final approval.

Requirements

You must meet the location and skill qualifications below to be considered for this pilot.

  • Location requirement: Must be based in the USA.
  • 3D & 2D annotation expertise: Skilled in human pose annotation, including handling key point visibility and occlusion.
  • Proficiency with annotation tools that require dataset management, FOV adjustments, and 3D target manipulation.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy to align skeletal avatars realistically with poses.
  • Attention to detail for identifying and correcting pose discrepancies to achieve high accuracy.
  • Depth and camera adjustment skills: experienced estimating ground planes and adjusting FOV to match perspectives.
  • Problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot annotation challenges such as out-of-frame or misplaced key points.
  • Familiarity with annotation review processes, from initial assessment through final approval.
  • Efficiency with shortcuts: comfortable using hotkeys to streamline workflows.

Who Should Apply

This pilot is intended for experienced annotators and specialists in human pose estimation who can work quickly and accurately. It's a fit if you have prior 2D/3D pose annotation experience and are comfortable with camera/FOV adjustments and skeletal alignment.

Compensation & Time Commitment

Pay is hourly at USD 15 per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR). The pilot itself requires 2 hours; ongoing work, if offered, will be contract/part-time and is expected to remain under 20 hours per week. Scheduling for follow-on work is flexible.

  • Hourly rate: $15 USD per hour.
  • Pilot length: 2 hours.
  • Ongoing work (if offered): less than 20 hours/week, flexible scheduling.
  • Employment types: Contractor, Part-time.

How It Works / Next Steps

Apply through OpenTrain to be considered for the pilot. Creating an account is free and applications usually take only a few minutes. If selected you'll be invited to complete the 2-hour pilot; successful pilots may be offered ongoing annotation tasks under a contract arrangement.

  • Sign up or sign in to OpenTrain and submit your application for this project.
  • If selected, complete the 2-hour pilot following the provided guidelines and tool instructions.
  • Successful completion may lead to additional contract work with flexible scheduling.
