The role

micro1 is recruiting a contractor Audio Transcription Expert to produce precise, high-quality transcripts of complex audio across multiple languages and domains. This is a remote, project-based engagement suited to experienced multilingual transcriptionists who can handle multi-speaker and technical content.

Work is part-time contractor work with flexible scheduling based on project availability. The role requires strong accuracy, familiarity with transcription tools, and professionalism when handling sensitive audio.

Languages supported

What you'll do

You will listen to complex audio files and produce accurate written transcripts following project guidelines and quality standards. Tasks span multiple languages, dialects, and subject areas and may include multi-speaker recordings and domain-specific vocabulary.

• Transcribe multi-speaker and technically complex audio into precise written transcripts
• Review and proofread transcripts for accuracy, grammar, and context; make necessary corrections
• Collaborate with project managers and other transcriptionists to maintain consistency
• Report audio quality issues and contribute feedback for continuous improvement
• Use and adapt to AI transcription tools and evolving software as required

Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate proven transcription expertise, multilingual fluency, and the ability to deliver accurate work under deadlines. Micro1 requires discretion when handling potentially sensitive audio.

• Proven experience transcribing multi-speaker and technically complex material
• Fluency in English plus at least one additional language from the supported list
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines
• Professional discretion when handling confidential or sensitive audio data
• Familiarity with AI transcription tools or prior experience supporting AI training

Helpful background and experience

While not required, the following backgrounds make a candidate especially competitive for this role.

• Prior transcription of domain-specific vocabulary (legal, medical, technical, etc.)
• Experience in linguistics, localization, or speech data processing
• Previous work on teams supporting AI or machine learning development
