About AI training work (what you'll be doing)

AI models learn from examples prepared and reviewed by people. This project focuses on producing high-quality programming examples and corrections so LLMs can generate correct and safe C++ code.

The role is part of the human side of AI development: creating, verifying, and improving code examples and debugging AI-generated code so models learn accurate patterns and best practices.

  • Work involves writing, reviewing, and debugging C++ code used as training data.
  • Your contributions directly shape how language models write and reason about code.

The role

We are hiring experienced C++ developers for a long-term LLM training project. This is a remote, contractor position with flexible hours.

Commitment: 20–40 hours per week for approximately 6 months. Employment types: Contractor, Part-time. Pay: $6.85 USD per hour.

  • Write C++ code snippets and short programs in response to prompts.
  • Debug and correct AI-generated C++ code to meet required standards.
  • Create precise training datasets and optimize C++ examples for model consumption.

What you'll do day-to-day

Your main tasks will include producing clean, well-documented C++ code samples, identifying and fixing errors in AI outputs, and refining examples so they are unambiguous for model training.

You will follow provided prompts and guidelines to ensure dataset consistency and quality; you may also suggest improvements to prompts or examples when necessary.

  • Write short programs, functions, and focused code snippets in C++ based on project prompts.
  • Review, debug, and optimize AI-generated C++ code for correctness, performance, and clarity.
  • Annotate or label code examples according to project guidelines to create training data.

Requirements

You must meet the role's listed requirements to be considered for this project. A coding assessment will be provided after you submit your proposal.

This project is open worldwide and conducted remotely; stable internet and reliable electricity are required to ensure consistent participation.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on C++.
  • Proven ability to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize C++ code with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills in English and ability to collaborate in a remote team.
  • Ability to commit 20–40 hours per week for a duration of 6 months.
  • Stable internet connection and reliable electricity for remote work.
  • Applicants with less than 2 years of professional experience will receive a lower qualification score (<7).

Who should apply

Experienced C++ developers who enjoy code authoring, debugging, and refining examples for machine learning will find this role rewarding. The project suits independent, detail-oriented contributors who can work remotely on a consistent schedule.

If you meet the education and experience requirements and can commit the listed hours, please apply and complete the coding assessment when prompted.

  • C++ developers with 2+ years of professional experience.
  • Remote-friendly contractors who prefer flexible schedules.
  • People interested in contributing to how LLMs learn to write and repair code.

How the process works

To apply, submit your proposal through OpenTrain. After your submission you will be sent a C++ coding assessment; completing that assessment is part of our screening process.

If selected, you'll be engaged as a contractor on a part-time basis and will receive instructions, prompts, and labeling guidelines for producing the training data.

  • Apply on OpenTrain and complete the coding assessment sent after submission.
  • Work remotely with flexible hours; track and report hours per project guidelines.
  • Payment is hourly at $6.85 USD per hour; the role is listed as Contractor and Part-time.
