The Role
We are hiring an experienced Chinese (Simplified)–English localization and LQA specialist to review AI-generated outputs, produce corrected model answers, and apply structured evaluation criteria.
This is a remote, part-time contractor position expected to require less than 20 hours per week. Pay is USD 24 per hour.

What You'll Do
You will review and improve AI-generated translations and localized content, combining linguistic judgment with structured QA methods.
Work includes both corrective writing and structured evaluation so outputs can be used to train and fine-tune models.
- Evaluate correctness, clarity, reasoning quality, and adherence to prompts and guidelines
- Identify translation/localization issues and reasoning or methodology errors
- Fact-check localized content (units, names, references, dates) using reliable sources when needed
- Write high-quality corrected outputs, explanations, and model answers
- Rate and rank multiple AI responses using structured criteria and LQA/MQM severity categories
- Use CAT tools, TM/termbases, and automated checks to ensure consistency and defensible decisions
Requirements
You must meet all listed language, experience, and technical qualifications to be considered.
We expect dependable throughput, clear documentation, and responsiveness suitable for hourly contractor workflows.
- Native or near-native Chinese (Simplified) proficiency with strong professional writing/editing skills
- English proficiency at C1+ (reading/writing) to interpret prompts, sources, and evaluation guidelines
- 5+ years professional localization/translation experience (multilingual localization preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or related field
- Demonstrated experience applying LQA/MQM including severity and category decisions, consistent error classification, and root-cause analysis
- Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows, including TM/termbases and automated checks
- Strong terminology management and copyediting ability covering tone, register, inclusivity, and cultural nuance
- Proven ability to fact-check localized content using reliable sources and sound reasoning
- Comfortable in hourly contractor workflows: dependable throughput, clear documentation, responsiveness across time zones
Preferred Qualifications
These are not required but strengthen your application and fit for the project.
- Prior experience with AI data training, annotation, or evaluation
- Experience working on multilingual localization projects or in localization teams
- Familiarity with structured labeling schemes for model evaluation such as RLHF or evaluation rating workflows
