About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is a central job board for AI-training and data-labeling work. We aggregate tasks from many AI companies and platforms so contributors can discover and apply to projects in one place.
Creating an OpenTrain account is free and applying takes only a few minutes. This listing is for a short-term contractor assignment collecting video data for an AI project.
About AI Training Work
This project helps train robotics and vision models by supplying real human demonstrations — the human side of building AI. Modern models learn from examples prepared and reviewed by people, such as annotated images and video.
Data-collection tasks like this one are often fully remote, flexible, and accessible to entry-level contributors with a smartphone and attention to detail. Your recordings will help models learn how people fold clothing in first-person view.
The Role
You will record a single compiled 30-minute video (approximately 120+ continuous foldings) from an egocentric (first-person) perspective demonstrating how you fold short-sleeved T-shirts.
This is a contract, part-time assignment paid at a fixed rate of USD 80 for a completed submission. The work is entry-level and open worldwide.
- Data type: VIDEO (first-person T-shirt folding demonstrations).
- Label type: DATA_COLLECTION using internal proprietary tooling.
- Employment type: CONTRACTOR, PART_TIME. Time commitment: Less than 20 hours/week.
What You'll Do (step-by-step)
Follow the folding routine exactly as shown in the sample and record continuously — do not pause between individual foldings. Multiple clips are allowed during filming but upload only the compiled final video (see sample link).
- Film from an egocentric (first-person) perspective: have someone hold the phone at your eye level behind you with the bottom of the phone touching your forehead (refer to the sample).
- Record a 30-minute video containing a minimum of 120 foldings; fold continuously for the entire duration.
- Use only short-sleeved T-shirts and a flat surface for folding; your hands must remain clearly visible throughout.
- For each T-shirt, perform these steps exactly and speak only the specified word at each step:
- 1) Start with a crumpled T-shirt and say only "ONE"
- 2) Flatten it on its back and say only "TWO"
- 3) Fold from the left and say only "THREE"
- 4) Fold from the right and say only "FOUR"
- 5) Fold from the middle and say only "FIVE"
- 6) After finishing folding the T-shirt say only "SIX," then hit the table to make a loud sound
- Use different short-sleeved T-shirts (many colors and materials) across the recording to provide variety.
Technical & Quality Requirements
Adhere to the camera, quality, and upload rules exactly so the footage can be used for model training.
- Device: Any smartphone or camera with video capability; you must have a smartphone with a camera and be able to film a first-person view.
- Quality: Set to HD (preferably 30 FPS and 0.5x zoom if available).
- Audio/Lighting: Well-lit scene with clear audio so spoken cues and the table sound are audible.
- Visibility: Hands must remain clearly visible for the entire video.
- Duration & Submission: 30-minute compiled video uploaded to YouTube (multiple cuts allowed during recording but submit only the compiled video).
- Do not take breaks between foldings during the 30-minute session.
Who Should Apply
This project is ideal for entry-level contributors worldwide who can follow precise instructions, have a smartphone, and can film in first-person view.
No prior labeling experience is required — attention to detail and the ability to perform the exact spoken/folding routine are the key qualifications.
How It Works & Payment
Create an OpenTrain account (free) and apply to this assignment. Follow the recording guidelines carefully and upload the compiled 30-minute video to YouTube as instructed in the task.
Payment for a completed, guideline-compliant submission is a fixed USD 80. This is a contractor, part-time assignment; specific payout timing and next steps will be provided after your submission is reviewed.
