About AI training and this kind of work
AI models learn from examples that people prepare and review. Image annotation—drawing boxes or polygons and assigning labels—is how computer-vision systems learn to detect objects such as people and safety equipment.
This role contributes directly to building safer, more accurate PPE-detection models used in workplaces and analytics systems.
The role — PPE Detection Image Labeler (Contractor)
We are seeking an expert data labeling contractor to annotate images for a PPE detection project. You will create accurate bounding boxes and polygon labels and assign the correct class for each object in the image.
This is a fixed-price assignment paying USD 2,000. The work is fully remote and open to contributors worldwide. Labeling will be performed in Roboflow and focused on image data.
- Data type: IMAGE
- Label types: OBJECT_DETECTION and POLYGON
- Labeling software: Roboflow
- Employment type: Contractor
- Experience level: Expert
- Payment: Fixed price — USD 2,000
Annotation classes you'll use
You will assign one of the following classes for each relevant object in the images. Accurate, consistent labeling across the dataset is essential.
- Gloves
- Hardhat
- NO-Gloves
- NO-Hardhat
- No-Vest-Overall
- Overall
- Person
- Safety Vest
What you'll do day to day
Follow project guidelines to annotate images using Roboflow, producing high-quality bounding boxes and polygon masks where required. Maintain consistency and accuracy across all images to meet model-training standards.
- Draw precise bounding boxes and/or polygons around objects and persons
- Assign the correct class label for each annotated object
- Adhere to annotation guidelines and consistency rules
- Address feedback from reviewers and correct annotations as requested
Requirements
Candidates must have proven experience with image annotation tools and a track record of delivering accurate object-detection labels. Familiarity with AI datasets for object detection is a plus.
- Proven experience with annotation tools (examples: CVAT, Label Studio, Roboflow, Roboflow mentioned specifically)
- Ability to maintain high accuracy and consistency across images
- Familiarity with object-detection datasets and best practices is beneficial
- Able to work as a contractor and use Roboflow for labeling
Who should apply
Experienced image annotators, QA specialists, and computer-vision contributors who have worked on object-detection projects and are comfortable using Roboflow should apply. Applicants with prior PPE or workplace-safety annotation experience are especially welcome.
Time commitment and schedule details are not specified in this listing and will be communicated to applicants during screening and onboarding.
