About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is a central job board for AI-training and data-labeling roles. We aggregate projects from multiple companies and platforms so contributors can find labeling work in one place.

Creating an OpenTrain account is free and applying takes just a few minutes. This listing connects you with contract, part-time annotation work focused on driving behavior videos.

About AI training work

AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human effort that teaches models how to interpret real-world inputs. For autonomous driving, humans review video and mark behaviors so models learn to recognize actions like turning, yielding, and lane following.

These projects are typically remote and flexible, and they let contributors directly shape how safety-critical systems behave on the road.

The role

You will watch short driving video clips (each clip is ~5 seconds) and select a single frame that best represents a specific vehicle behavior from a predefined list. Each clip receives one label.

Labels are action-recognition style annotations used to train autonomous vehicle perception models. Work is contractor, part-time, and performed using the project’s labeling software (OTHER).

What you'll do

  • View 5-second driving video clips and pick the one frame that best captures the key behavior.
  • Assign a single behavior label (e.g., turning, lane keeping, yielding) from the provided list for each clip.
  • Follow detailed annotation guidelines precisely and apply consistent judgments across clips.
  • Maintain throughput and accuracy while working through batches of short videos.
  • Report ambiguous or low-quality clips according to instruction set.

Requirements

All requirements below are strict and will be verified during screening.

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in data labeling or related annotation work (intermediate level).
  • Valid UK driver’s license is mandatory — candidates without a UK license or unable to provide one will be auto-failed.
  • License ID may be submitted with personal details (birthdate or ID number) redacted.
  • Comfortable analyzing short video clips and demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow precise labeling instructions and apply consistent judgment.
  • Availability of 20+ hours per week.
  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time. Pay: USD $17 per hour.

Who should apply

This role suits people who understand UK driving behavior, have hands-on labeling experience, and enjoy focused, short-clip video work. If you’ve driven in the UK and can consistently spot behaviors in clips, you’re a strong fit.

Work is remote in practice, but a valid UK driver’s license is required regardless of your location.

How the application and screening work

Apply via OpenTrain with your resume and a note about your labeling experience and availability. During screening, you will be asked to confirm your UK license and complete short scenario-based questions to evaluate your judgment in identifying driving behaviors.

Because this is contractor, part-time work, you will log hours at the agreed hourly rate. The project uses a designated labeling platform (OTHER); full instructions and training materials are provided to accepted annotators.

  • Prepare to upload a redacted image of your UK driver’s license or otherwise prove license ownership during onboarding.
  • Screening includes scenario-based questions to assess your ability to identify vehicle behaviors; failure to demonstrate required license status results in automatic disqualification.
