About AI training (what this work is)

AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human work that helps machine learning models learn and improve. Examples include classifying text, tagging images, transcribing audio, and rating model outputs.

This role involves text classification and quality review: your contributions help produce accurate, consistent data that model developers use to train and evaluate systems.

The Role

You will review English text that was pre-annotated and confirm whether the existing classification tags are correct. When tags are missing or incorrect, you will correct them following the project guidelines.

Work is done in an online labeling tool (platform listed as OTHER). The goal is consistent, high-quality labeled data suitable for analysis and model training.

What You'll Do

  • Open and review short English text snippets that already include classification tags.
  • Verify tag accuracy against project guidelines and correct or add tags where necessary.
  • Use the provided online annotation tool to update labels and submit reviewed examples.
  • Follow instructions closely to ensure consistency across examples and meet quality targets.
  • Communicate any ambiguous cases or guideline questions clearly to the project team.

Requirements

  • Must reside in Argentina (Argentina-based freelancers only).
  • Minimum B2 English proficiency on the CEFR scale; strong reading comprehension required.
  • Attention to detail and consistent ability to meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in data labeling or related tasks is preferred but not required.
  • Good written communication skills and reliability.
  • Familiarity with labeling/annotation tools is a plus, but not required if you learn quickly.

Interview Test Questions

During the live interview you will be asked three short multiple-choice classification questions to demonstrate reading comprehension and tagging judgement. Answers will be scored against an internal key that is not shown during the interview.

  • Question 1 — Snippet: “I can’t believe how expensive movie tickets have become. This is outrageous, and I won’t be going to the cinema anytime soon!” Possible classifications: A. Personal Complaint B. Product Advertisement C. News Report
  • Question 2 — Snippet: “Join us this Saturday for the grand opening of our new bakery in downtown Chicago! We’ll have free samples and great deals all day long.” Possible classifications: A. Promotional Announcement B. Travel Experience C. Academic Summary
  • Question 3 — Snippet: “Sarah completed her PhD in Computer Science last year. She now teaches at a local university and publishes research papers on machine learning.” Possible classifications: A. Personal Complaint B. Professional Biography C. Consumer Review
