About AI training and why it matters
AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human work behind how models learn: people transcribe audio, label speech segments, rate responses, and prepare examples that guide model behavior.
These roles are commonly remote, flexible, and accessible — contributors directly influence how state-of-the-art AI systems perform.
The role
We are seeking native Haitian Creole speakers to join an audio annotation project. This is an entry-level, part-time contractor role that focuses on creating high-quality transcriptions and speech labels from recorded audio.

- Time commitment: 20+ hours per week; typically 3–5 hours per day.
- Pay: Fixed project payment of USD 270.
What you'll do
You will listen to short audio recordings and produce accurate transcriptions, mark speech segments, and follow the project's annotation guidelines to ensure consistent data quality.
- Transcribe Haitian Creole audio into text accurately.
- Label speech segments (segment boundaries and simple classification labels).
- Follow written instructions and annotation guidelines precisely.
- Log and track tasks using Google Sheets as directed.
- Use the project's internal proprietary annotation tools to submit work.
Requirements
All substantive requirements for the role are listed below. No prior annotation experience is required; training will be provided.

- Basic familiarity with Google Sheets for task tracking.
- Comfort using web-based annotation tools (project uses internal proprietary tooling).
Who should apply
This role is ideal for native Haitian Creole speakers looking for flexible, remote work and who can reliably meet daily time expectations. No previous AI or annotation experience is necessary; we provide training and clear guidelines.
- Entry-level candidates welcome — training provided.
- Open worldwide to applicants who meet the language requirement.
- Good fit for people seeking steady part-time contract work.
How the project works & next steps
If selected, you will receive onboarding and task-specific training, access to the annotation interface, and instructions for tracking work in Google Sheets. Tasks are assigned according to project needs and your availability.
To apply, submit your profile and confirm native Haitian Creole fluency, your typical daily availability, and that you can commit to 20+ hours/week. Successful applicants will be given training materials and a short qualification task.
- Onboarding includes training and a qualification task.
- Work is completed in the project's internal tooling; progress tracked in Google Sheets.
- This is a fixed-price contract assignment with total compensation of USD 270 for the project as specified.
