About AI Training Work
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building intelligent systems. Contributors prepare and review examples — code, text, images, audio — that modern models learn from, and they directly influence how AI behaves.
This project focuses on programming/data work: preparing high-quality JavaScript examples and correcting AI-generated code so models produce reliable, maintainable JavaScript.
The Role
We are hiring experienced JavaScript developers for a long-term AI training contract. You will write short programs and code snippets in JavaScript from prompts, debug and fix AI-generated JavaScript, and assemble accurate training datasets that help models learn correct coding patterns.
This is a remote, flexible role where you set your own hours within a weekly commitment of 20–40 hours for a 6-month engagement.
- Position type: Contractor, part-time
- Time commitment: 20–40 hours/week for 6 months
- Work location: Fully remote, worldwide
What You'll Do
Day-to-day work focuses on hands-on coding tasks and quality control for training data.
- Write concise JavaScript code snippets and short programs to match given prompts.
- Debug and correct AI-generated JavaScript so outputs meet specified standards.
- Create, review, and label JavaScript examples to form accurate training datasets.
- Refine and optimize code for clarity, correctness, and performance.
- Collaborate remotely with the project team and follow labeling guidelines and quality checks.
Requirements
Candidates must meet every substantive requirement listed below.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience with strong focus on JavaScript.
- Proven ability to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize JavaScript code.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Stable internet connection and reliable electricity for consistent remote work.
- Ability to commit 20–40 hours per week for 6 months.
Who Should Apply
This role is a good fit for JavaScript developers who want flexible, remote contract work and enjoy hands-on coding and code review that directly shapes AI behavior. It’s ideal for people comfortable producing small, well-tested code examples and correcting model outputs.
- Applicants with less than 2 years of professional experience may receive a lower qualification score (<7) during evaluation.
- Open to candidates worldwide who meet the technical and connectivity requirements.
How It Works & Next Steps
To apply, submit a proposal through OpenTrain. After submission you will receive a JavaScript coding assessment; completion of that assessment is required to advance in selection. If selected, you will be engaged as a contractor and given project guidelines and onboarding instructions.
- Pay: $6.90 USD per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR).
- Contract type: Contractor, part-time. Exact scheduling is flexible within the 20–40 hr/week commitment.
- Assessment: A mandatory JavaScript coding test will be provided after you submit your proposal.
