About AI Training Work

AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building intelligent systems. Engineers and researchers rely on experts to review model outputs and provide corrected examples and clear explanations so models learn accurate, safe, and useful behavior.

This role focuses on code: your corrections and documentation will improve how models generate and reason about Julia programs.

The Role

We are seeking a Julia programming language Subject Matter Expert (SME) based in India to review, debug, and correct code generated by AI models and to clearly document and explain each correction.

Employment type: contractor, part-time. Pay: PAY_PER_HOUR at USD 27.00/hour. Expected minimum commitment: 20+ hours/week. Data type: COMPUTER_CODE_PROGRAMMING. Label types: COMPUTER_PROGRAMMING_CODING and EVALUATION_RATING. Labeling software: OTHER.

What You'll Do

Work independently to evaluate AI-generated Julia code, identify bugs or inefficiencies, and produce corrected implementations.

Document changes and write clear, concise explanations so the corrections teach the model better coding patterns and reasoning.

  • Review AI-generated Julia code for correctness, performance, and style.
  • Debug and fix errors, edge cases, and incorrect logic.
  • Provide step-by-step explanations and technical documentation for each correction.
  • Rate and evaluate code outputs according to provided guidelines.
  • Manage tasks efficiently and deliver consistent, high-quality work.

Requirements

You must meet every substantive requirement listed below to be considered for this role.

  • 7+ years of professional experience with the Julia programming language.
  • Located in India (candidates must be based in India).
  • C1 level English proficiency — able to explain complex technical concepts in clear written English.
  • Demonstrated experience in debugging and technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work independently.

Interview, Testing, and Screening

At the start of the interview you will be required to complete a coding/skill test and a live interview. If you are dishonest during the interview or test you will be permanently banned from the OpenTrain AI platform.

During the live interview you will be asked for real-world examples of what you have built with Julia and for concise, factual answers to a few required questions.

  • You must clearly state your highest level of education during the interview.
  • You must state the exact number of years of experience you have with Julia (not a range).
  • You must state the exact number of hours per week you can commit if hired (an exact value, e.g., "20-25" is acceptable but not "20+" or "20+").
  • Be prepared to describe concrete projects or systems you built with Julia and to show demonstrable outcomes.

How To Apply

Create a free OpenTrain account and submit your application; applying typically takes only a few minutes.

Prepare concrete examples of your Julia work, your exact weekly availability, and your education details for the interview and live test.

  • Employment types: contractor, part-time.
  • Pay structure: hourly at USD 27.00/hour.
  • Time expectation: minimum 20+ hours/week; you will state an exact weekly hour commitment during screening.

Who Should Apply

Experienced Julia developers who can explain technical decisions in clear English and who prefer flexible, remote contractor work should apply.

This job is suitable for independent contributors who can deliver precise corrections, high-quality documentation, and consistent output on a part-time schedule.
