About AI training work
AI training (data labeling, annotation, and human feedback) is the human side of building neural models: people provide examples, write responses, and rate or refine outputs so models learn to be accurate, safe, and useful.
This role focuses on conversational data for large language models (LLMs): your writing and editing will directly shape how chatbots speak, understand regional nuances, and interact with real users in Korean.
The role
We are hiring a remote contract Korean Creative Writer to generate and refine prompt-based dialogue and other conversational texts used to train AI chatbots.
Work is part-time, contractor status, and worldwide. The project centers on producing natural, culturally relevant Korean responses and improving AI-generated text quality.
- Payment: USD $17 per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR).
- Employment types: Contractor, Part-time.
- Data type: TEXT; Label types: PROMPT_RESPONSE_WRITING_SFT, TEXT_GENERATION, TEXT_SUMMARIZATION.
- Labeling software: OTHER.
What you'll do
Create authentic Korean dialogue and written responses from supplied prompts, ensuring natural tone, grammatical accuracy, and cultural relevance across dialects and registers.
Edit and proofread AI-generated text to raise quality, clarity, and engagement; adapt style for different scenarios (professional emails, character descriptions, persuasive messaging, etc.).
- Produce original prompt-response pairs and improved continuations for chatbot training.
- Apply deep knowledge of Korean language styles, regional nuances, and idiomatic expressions.
- Follow project guidelines and provide clear, consistent examples for model learning.
Requirements & preferences
Required: strong command of written Korean, excellent grammar, and the ability to write in varied styles. Basic understanding of English is required to follow instructions and communicate with the team.
Preferred experience: over five years in creative or content writing in Korean, and prior WRITING experience on online data-labeling platforms (examples: Remotasks, Outlier, Appen, DataAnnotation.tech). Note: writing tasks on those platforms are specifically more relevant than rating/evaluation-only tasks.
- Minimum commitment: 10 hours per week; preferred commitment: 20+ hours per week. (Listing notes: time requirement marked as Less than 20 hours/week.)
- Portfolio of published Korean works preferred but not required — links or descriptions welcomed.
- Experience with AI/chatbot tools (e.g., ChatGPT) is an advantage, not mandatory.
Application details and interview test
During application and interview we will verify specific background and ask you to submit portfolio links or descriptions and your highest level of education.
We will also ask about your experience writing on data-labeling platforms: please state which platforms and how many years or months you spent performing WRITING tasks on those platforms (not just rating/evaluation).
- Please provide a link to your Korean writing portfolio or, if unavailable, brief descriptions of published works.
- State your highest level of education.
- Tell us how many years/months you have completed WRITING tasks on data-labeling platforms and which platforms you used.
Mandatory short test (final interview step)
At the end of the interview you will complete a short test: questions will be presented in English and Korean, and you must respond in Korean. The responses strongly impact your qualification score.
Below are the exact test prompts you will be asked to answer in Korean during the interview.
- QUESTION 1 (Korean): 독창적인 언어를 사용하여 독특하고 생생한 캐릭터를 간단히 묘사하세요. 묘사에는 적어도 두 가지 뚜렷한 특징이나 특성이 포함되어야 합니다.
- QUESTION 2 (Korean): 준비한 '분기별 재무 보고서'에 대한 피드백을 요청하는 짧은 이메일을 상사에게 작성하세요. 데이터 분석 및 프레젠테이션 스타일에 초점을 맞추세요.
- QUESTION 3 (Korean): 내성적인 친구가 지역 행사에서 게스트 스피커로 자원하는 것을 설득하기 위한 간결한 이메일을 작성하세요. 참여의 두 가지 이점을 강조하고 그들이 가질 수 있는 하나의 잠재적인 우려를 해결하세요.
