About OpenTrain

OpenTrain aggregates data-labeling and AI-training jobs in one place so contributors can find short-term and ongoing projects without hunting across many sites. Creating an OpenTrain account is free and applying takes only a few minutes.

We list voice recording, transcription, annotation, and other human-in-the-loop tasks that help train modern AI systems. This posting is for a brief audio-recording assignment collected through a mobile app.

About AI training work

AI systems learn from examples people provide. Tasks like recording natural speech help models understand pronunciation, intonation, and real-world language use.

Many projects are remote, flexible, and accessible to contributors without prior labeling experience — your recordings directly improve speech recognition and synthesis models.

The role

We are seeking male native French (France) speakers who own and use an Android device to record short sentences for a single, brief assignment.

This is an entry-level, contractor, part-time task that should take about one hour. Each participant may record only once; submitted recordings will be reviewed by the client for authenticity and quality.

  • Task type: Audio recording (100–150 short sentences)
  • Device requirement: Android phone only (iPhone not supported)
  • Eligibility: Male, native French (France) speaker
  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time

What you'll do

Using the provided Android app, you will record a set of 100–150 short sentences. The full session typically takes around one hour to complete.

Follow on-screen prompts for each sentence and submit your recordings when finished. The client will review submissions to confirm native pronunciation and overall quality.

  • Record 100–150 short sentences in a single session (about one hour)
  • Complete the session once — one submission per participant
  • Ensure clear, natural pronunciation in French (France)

Requirements

You must meet all requirements to be eligible for payment. Submissions that do not meet these requirements may be rejected by the client and will not be paid.

The project is entry-level; previous labeling experience is not required, but you must be able to follow instructions carefully and provide clear recordings.

  • Male gender (applications from non-male candidates cannot be accepted)
  • Native French (France) speaker — authentic pronunciation will be checked
  • Own and use an Android smartphone (the app does not support iPhone)
  • Available to record 100–150 sentences in one session (~1 hour)
  • One submission per participant; multiple attempts are not allowed

Commitment and pay

This is a short, contract assignment with less than 20 hours/week expected. The work is paid hourly at USD 17.50 per hour and should take around one hour to complete.

Payment is issued only after the client reviews and accepts your submission. If recordings fail the authenticity or quality check, payment will not be issued.

  • Pay: $17.50 USD per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR)
  • Estimated time: ~1 hour to complete the recording set
  • Availability: Less than 20 hours/week; one-time recording session

How to apply

If you meet the requirements, apply through OpenTrain and follow the instructions to access the Android recording app. Be prepared to complete the full set in one session.

Before applying, ensure your device is Android and that you can commit roughly one hour to record 100–150 sentences. The client will verify each submission for native pronunciation and will only pay accepted recordings.

  • Create an OpenTrain account (free) and submit your application
  • Have your Android phone ready to install and use the recording app
  • Complete the full recording session in one go and submit for review
