About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is a central place to find data-labeling and AI-training jobs from many companies and platforms. Creating an OpenTrain account is free, and applying takes only a few minutes.
We list short, flexible tasks that help build datasets used to train and evaluate AI systems. This posting is for a single, paid data-collection task you can complete from home.
About AI training work
AI systems learn from examples prepared by people. Tasks like collecting photos and metadata help models learn to recognize faces, estimate age, and improve safety and accuracy.
Many projects are entry level, fully remote, and let you choose your own hours. For this task you will directly contribute sample images and metadata used to train biometric and age-estimation models.
The role — 1-hour paid data-collection task
This is a single, fixed-price contractor task that should take about one hour to complete. You will extract the biometric chip image from your NFC-enabled government ID and upload a set of current and historical photos plus a small metadata file.
Pay: USD 5 (fixed price) for the completed task. Employment type: Contractor, part-time. Time commitment: less than 20 hours/week overall; this job requires one sitting of approximately 1 hour.
What you will do
Follow step-by-step instructions to extract and upload required image files and a CSV or JSON metadata sheet. Exact folder naming and metadata formatting must be used (a template will be provided).
You must submit all files in one workflow so the project can be approved. Files and metadata will be reviewed for completeness before payment.
- Use an approved NFC-reader app (examples: ReadID Ready, Regula Reader) to extract the chip-stored image from your passport or national e-ID.
- Upload the biometric chip image extracted directly from your NFC ID (screenshots or photos of the ID image are NOT accepted).
- Provide 3 fresh full-face selfies (neutral expression; mix indoor/outdoor lighting).
- Provide 2 profile-style photos taken within the last 10 years.
- Provide 3 older digital photos from earlier life stages (each at least 2–3 years apart; subjects in those photos must be age ≥ 12 at time of photo).
- Place each file in the correct folder and include a CSV or JSON metadata sheet with age or year taken, lighting, and pose for every photo.
Requirements — you must meet all of these
To qualify you must meet every requirement listed below. If you cannot meet every item, do not apply.
This task involves personally-identifying documents and personal photos; accuracy and adherence to instructions are required.
- Age & residency: 18 years or older and live in a country that issues NFC-enabled passports or national e-IDs.
- Identity & hardware: Own at least one NFC-enabled government ID (passport or national e-ID) and a smartphone (Android or iOS) with working NFC and stable internet.
- Apps: Able to install and use an approved NFC-reader app such as ReadID Ready or Regula Reader.
- Photo assets: Provide the NFC-extracted biometric chip image (no screenshots), 3 fresh full-face selfies, 2 profile photos from the last 10 years, and 3 historical photos (age ≥ 12 in each; each historical photo 2–3 years apart).
- Metadata & naming: Follow exact folder-naming and CSV/JSON metadata template (you must include age or year taken, lighting, and pose for each photo).
- Skills & language: Basic English reading comprehension and careful attention to file naming and upload instructions; no prior labeling experience required.
- Time & reliability: Complete the full upload workflow in one sitting (approximately 1 hour) and submit all images and metadata accurately by the stated deadline.
Who should apply
Apply if you are 18+, live in a country issuing NFC-enabled IDs, and have an NFC-capable smartphone and personal access to historic digital photos that meet the requirements.
This is entry-level data-collection work for people comfortable following detailed instructions, handling personal photo files, and working as an independent contractor.
