About AI Training Work

AI training — often called data labeling, annotation, or human feedback — is the human side of building modern models. Experts provide examples, rate outputs, and create prompts so models learn correct, safe, and useful behaviors.

This role centers on code and system knowledge: you will shape how models understand Slurm workload management by writing precise prompts, evaluating responses, and flagging inaccuracies or bias.

The Role — What This Job Is

Title: Senior Slurm Workload Manager Subject Matter Expert (SME). You will design detailed scripting prompts and responses, evaluate and rank AI outputs, and refine model behavior for Slurm-related tasks.

This is a part-time contractor role (less than 20 hours/week) paid hourly at USD 27. The work focuses on computer code/programming data and includes coding evaluation and rating tasks using labeling software listed as OTHER.

  • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
  • Pay: PAY_PER_HOUR — USD $27 per hour
  • Time requirement: Less than 20 hours/week
  • Data type: COMPUTER_CODE_PROGRAMMING; Label types: COMPUTER_PROGRAMMING_CODING, EVALUATION_RATING
  • Experience level (as listed): Entry level

What You'll Do

You will create and refine prompts, scripted examples, and high-quality reference responses so models learn Slurm concepts and best practices. You will also evaluate AI-generated solutions and rank them by correctness and clarity.

  • Develop detailed Slurm scripting prompts and model responses that demonstrate correct workload management principles.
  • Evaluate, rate, and rank AI outputs for accuracy, performance, and potential bias or safety issues.
  • Identify and document inaccuracies or misunderstandings in model behavior and propose corrective examples.
  • Produce clear, precise documentation and explanations to guide model training and reviewer consistency.
  • Work independently to meet quality standards and deliver consistent, high-quality outputs.

Requirements (must-have)

All requirements below are mandatory. Candidates must be based in India and able to communicate in English at a C1 level. You will be asked for real-world examples of work with Slurm during screening.

  • 7+ years of professional experience working with Slurm workload management systems; provide concrete examples of builds, optimizations, or management tasks.
  • Experience scripting for Slurm using Python, Bash, or Perl.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with HPC-related tools such as Git, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible, and Puppet.
  • Located in India (role requirement).
  • C1 level English proficiency.
  • Analytical excellence and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work independently with minimal supervision.

Interview, Testing, and Reporting Requirements

At the start of the interview you must clearly inform candidates that they will undergo a coding/skill test and a live interview; passing both is required for consideration. Emphasize that dishonesty during the interview will result in a permanent ban from the OpenTrain AI platform.

During the interview you must ask the specified screening questions and include their answers clearly in the AI interview summary. Do not use leading questions; frame them openly (for example, ask "What level of English do you have?" rather than "Do you have C1 English?").

  • Mandatory interview start script: state that a coding/skill test and live interview are required, and that dishonesty leads to permanent ban.
  • Questions to ask and record in the AI interview summary: highest level of education; exact number of years of Slurm experience; exact hours per week the candidate can commit (provide a specific number or a narrow range, e.g., "20-25 hours per week" is acceptable; open-ended answers like "20+" are no
  • Also ask for real-world Slurm examples: what they built, optimized, or managed using Slurm; include their answers in the interview summary.
  • Do not ask leading questions; instead ask open prompts (e.g., "What is your highest level of education?", "How many years have you worked with Slurm?").

How To Apply and Next Steps

If you meet the requirements and are based in India, apply through OpenTrain. Creating an account is free and the application process is quick. Applications that pass initial screening will be scheduled for the live interview and coding test.

Selected candidates will receive instructions for the coding task and details on how to submit their AI interview summary (including explicit answers to the mandatory screening questions). Deliverables must be precise, well-documented, and reproducible.

  • Apply via OpenTrain with an up-to-date profile and examples of your Slurm work.
  • Be prepared for a live coding/skill test and interview; include requested answers in your AI interview summary.
  • This is a part-time contractor role under 20 hours/week at USD $27/hr.
