About AI training and this work

AI training (data labeling, annotation, RLHF) is the human work behind better models: people write, edit, rate, and refine examples so models learn safe, accurate, and natural behavior.

This role focuses on creative writing for conversational AI: your text samples and edits will teach an LLM how to respond naturally in Spanish as spoken in Spain.

The role

We’re hiring a remote, contract Creative Writer who is a native Spanish speaker FROM Spain and currently living in Spain. You must have lived in Spain for five or more years and be deeply familiar with local culture and linguistic nuance.

Employment type: contractor, part-time. Data type: text (prompt/response writing and SFT-style text generation). Label types include PROMPT_RESPONSE_WRITING_SFT, QUESTION_ANSWERING, and TEXT_GENERATION. Labeling software: Other.

Pay: USD 18.74 per hour. Time commitment: flexible with a minimum of 10 hours/week; the project prefers contributors who can commit 20+ hours/week. Note: this is a part-time contractor engagement typically under 20 hours/week.

  • Location: Spain only (must be currently living in Spain and have lived there 5+ years).
  • Rate: USD 18.74 per hour.
  • Min commitment: 10 hours/week; preferred 20+ hours/week.

What you'll do day to day

Create culturally authentic, engaging Spanish responses to given prompts and refine AI-generated outputs so they read naturally for audiences in Spain.

Focus on tone, idiom, regional phrasing, and realistic dialogue to improve conversational models and make interactions relatable across Spanish dialects used in Spain.

  • Write high-quality sample responses to prompts and conversational scenarios.
  • Edit and improve model-generated text to correct tone, grammar, and cultural references.
  • Produce short pieces of creative text, dialogue, and Q&A style responses as requested.

Requirements and qualifications

Must be a native Spanish speaker FROM Spain, currently living in Spain, and have lived in Spain for at least five years. Basic English is required to follow instructions and communicate with the team.

We highly prefer candidates with hands-on experience doing WRITING tasks on online data-labeling platforms (Remotasks, Outlier, Appen, DataAnnotation.tech, etc.), and with creative or content writing experience in Spanish.

  • Native Spanish speaker from Spain; resident in Spain with 5+ years living there.
  • Strong command of written Spanish, excellent grammar, and multiple writing styles.
  • Basic understanding of English to follow instructions.
  • Experience writing on data-labeling platforms (Remotasks, Outlier, Appen, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with AI chatbot tools (e.g., ChatGPT) is an advantage but not required.
  • Portfolio of published works in Spanish preferred (links or descriptions during interview).
  • Education: interview will ask for your highest level of education.

Interview, qualification score, and test

During the interview you will be asked about your platform experience (how many years/months writing on data-labeling platforms), your portfolio, and your education level. Candidates with substantial Spanish writing experience should score highly on the qualification scale.

At the end of the interview you will complete a short live test. Questions may be provided in English and Spanish, but you must respond in Spanish. The quality of these responses heavily influences your qualification score.

  • Interviewer (ChatGPT) will ask if you have written responses to prompts on platforms like Remotasks or Outlier and how long you've done so.
  • Provide a portfolio link or descriptions of published works if available.
  • Final test includes three prompts; responses must be in Spanish: 1) Describe a character briefly and creatively with at least two distinctive traits. 2) Draft a short professional email to your supervisor requesting feedback on a 'Quarterly Financial Report' focusing on data analysis and presentatio
