OpenTrain aggregates data-labeling and AI-training jobs from many companies into one place so skilled contributors can discover opportunities quickly. Creating an OpenTrain account is free and applying takes only a few minutes.
Why AI Training Work Matters
AI models learn from examples prepared and reviewed by people. Medical imaging projects rely on expert annotations so models can detect, segment, and diagnose findings accurately and safely.
This work directly shapes clinical-quality imaging tools by supplying precise, expert-labeled DICOM data used to train and evaluate medical AI.
The Role
OpenTrain AI seeks US-based, board-certified radiologists (MD) to perform annotation on a radiology imaging project focused on CT and MRI studies. This is a contractor position paid per hour at $150 USD.
You will annotate medical DICOM images using a project-specific labeling tool (listed as OTHER in the project). Label tasks include polygon drawing, pixel/region segmentation, and recording diagnostic labels.
- Employment type: Contractor
- Compensation: $150 per hour (USD)
- Data type: MEDICAL_DICOM (CT and MRI studies)
- Primary label types: POLYGON, SEGMENTATION, DIAGNOSIS
What You'll Do
Apply your radiology expertise to create precise annotations on CT and MRI images that can be used to train and validate clinical AI models.
Follow project-specific labeling guidelines and quality controls to ensure consistent, clinically accurate labels.
- Draw polygons around findings and regions of interest
- Produce segmentation masks for anatomical structures or lesions
- Assign diagnostic labels per case according to protocol
- Work within the project's labeling platform and quality-review workflows
Requirements
All role requirements are listed below; applicants must meet each one to be considered for the project.
- Board-certified radiologist
- MD (Doctor of Medicine)
- US-based (must be located in the United States)
- Experience level: Entry level (project accepts early-career radiologists)
How This Project Works
OpenTrain connects qualified contributors to labeling projects and provides the application route. Project-specific training, guidelines, and access to the annotation tool are provided by the hiring team during onboarding.
Labeling work for medical imaging requires attention to protocol and consistency; contributors typically follow step-by-step instructions and submit work for QA review.
How to Apply
If you meet the requirements above, create or sign in to your OpenTrain account and submit your application for this role. Include verification of board certification and MD credentials as requested in the application flow.
Applications are reviewed by the project team; accepted candidates will receive onboarding details, access to the labeling tool, and payment setup information.
