About OpenTrain

OpenTrain is a central job board for data-labeling and AI-training work. We aggregate opportunities across many AI companies and labeling platforms so contributors can find relevant projects in one place. Creating an account is free and applying takes only a few minutes.

About AI training and this kind of work

AI training (also called data labeling, annotation, or human feedback) is how people teach models to understand speech, video, and text. Tasks include reviewing transcripts, identifying errors, and adding clear, structured feedback so models become more accurate and reliable.

  • Work is remote, flexible, and meaningful — your annotations directly shape how AI systems behave.
  • Many projects require no prior experience, but specialist tasks (like transcription review) often ask for language fluency and domain-specific know-how.

The role

We are hiring native-level Finnish annotators based in Finland for a short test project focused on video transcription annotation. This is a contractor, part-time role that may expand into a longer-term assignment if your quality is strong.

You will evaluate transcripts of video content to determine whether they contain major, minor, or no errors, and provide clear descriptions and timestamps for any issues you find.

  • Project type: short test with potential extension
  • Employment: Contractor, Part-time
  • Location requirement: Must be based in Finland

What you'll do

Perform careful reviews of video transcripts and assess transcription quality. Record issues with precise timestamps and label each error by severity.

Provide concise, well-written descriptions of errors so project reviewers and model trainers can understand and act on your findings.

  • Decide whether each transcript has major, minor, or no errors
  • Identify and describe errors and provide exact timestamps
  • Follow project guidelines in the provided labeling tool (other web-based platform)

Requirements

All of the following requirements are mandatory for this role. Applications that do not meet these criteria cannot be considered.

  • Native-level speaker of Finnish (required)
  • 2–3 years of experience in video and audio annotation (intermediate level)
  • Strong Finnish writing skills and attention to detail
  • Based in Finland (work must be performed from Finland)

Compensation & schedule

This role pays by the hour at a rate of USD 22.00 per hour. Expect to work less than 20 hours per week for the duration of the test project.

Payment is hourly (PAY_PER_HOUR) in USD. The test project is short-term with the possibility of extending to a longer-term engagement if your work meets quality standards.

  • Rate: $22.00 USD per hour
  • Time commitment: Less than 20 hours/week
  • Project length: Short test project; potential to continue based on quality

How the process works

If selected you'll be given access to a web-based labeling platform (other) and project guidelines. Complete the test assignments within the specified deadlines and submit your annotations for quality review.

Successful performance on the test may lead to offers for ongoing tasks under the same contractor, part-time terms.

  • You will use a supplied labeling tool (platform listed as OTHER)
  • Follow precise instructions for marking timestamps and error severity
  • Quality checks will determine eligibility for longer-term work

Who should apply

Apply if you are a native Finnish speaker based in Finland with 2–3 years of video/audio annotation experience and strong written Finnish. This role suits meticulous reviewers who enjoy improving transcription quality and can work independently as a contractor.

  • Native Finnish speakers with intermediate annotation experience
  • Detail-oriented reviewers who can describe errors clearly and accurately
  • Candidates comfortable with part-time, contractor arrangements
