About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting for a Visual Evaluation Specialist on a remote contractor basis. In this role, you will evaluate and annotate visual content to support the training of next-generation AI systems. You will assess images for quality, aesthetics, composition, and clarity, then deliver detailed written feedback that helps AI models learn and improve. No prior AI experience is required; what matters is your domain expertise in visual fields.
What you will do
- Evaluate and annotate visual content for quality, aesthetics, and usefulness using project guidelines
- Provide detailed, objective written feedback on image content to support AI training improvements
- Identify and flag inconsistencies, errors, or suboptimal visuals across diverse datasets
- Assess image composition, clarity, and adherence to visual standards using advanced analytical skills
- Communicate findings clearly in written English with well-reasoned justifications and suggestions
- Support continuous enhancement of AI model accuracy by delivering precise, timely evaluations
Required skills
- Proven experience in visual content evaluation, digital media, or a related field
- Commitment to dedicate at least 15 hours per week to the project
- Exceptional written English communication abilities with very high language proficiency
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail when reviewing visual materials
- Familiarity with digital image formats, quality standards, and basic visual design principles
- Ability to work independently, manage high-volume evaluation tasks, and provide constructive feedback
Helpful background
- Background in design, architecture, UX/UI, product design, photography, videography, visual arts, motion graphics, animation, illustration, branding, cinematography, creative direction, visual communication, industrial design, game design, digital arts, or human-computer interaction (HCI)
Schedule and location
This is a fully remote contractor role. You must be available to commit at least 15 hours per week. The role is open to applicants worldwide.
